In the heart of Marievik, Stockholm, an extensive renovation and extension of an existing office building is underway, adding two new floors as well as an additional half floor. CG Solutions is responsible for the vertical extension, which is being executed using a hybrid structural system consisting of CLT walls, CLT floor slabs, rib deck, steel beams and columns. We are also delivering concrete staircases, steel staircases and railings.
The existing seven-storey building is being extended in timber and steel and will feature green roofs and solar panels as part of the project’s sustainable energy solutions. Strong emphasis is placed on material reuse, energy efficiency and preserving the original postmodern architecture. The project comprises approximately 14,000 m² of renovation and extension (GFA), and in addition to modern office spaces, the building will also include retail premises at ground level.
The project is the first in Sweden to be certified according to NollCO2 Renovation Version 2.0, marking an important milestone for the climate-smart urban development of the future.
Construction commenced in the second quarter of 2025, and the completed building is expected to be finalized in the third quarter of 2027. We thank Skanska for their trust!
