NewCold Cold Srorage Warehouse, Flen
We are proud to be part of the construction of NewCold’s new highly automated cold storage facility in Flen. The facility comprises approximately 16,500 square meters of high-bay warehouse space, including a mezzanine and office section, and will become NewCold’s second-largest building in Sweden. The project is an important part of the company’s continued expansion in the Nordics and its investment in sustainable, high-tech logistics solutions.
We are currently in the detailed design phase, where CG Solutions is responsible for delivering the structural frame for the Lowbay section, the technical rooms, and the office area. The structure consists of steel, hollow-core slabs, and prefabricated walls, designed to meet the high demands of a cold storage facility operating at temperatures down to -28°C. This places special requirements on insulation and thermal bridging, which we address with great technical precision.
Installation work is scheduled to begin in mid-December 2025 and continue through early March 2026. The new facility will house a 42-meter-high automated storage and picking system with capacity for 56,000 pallets. The building will also be equipped with automated trailer unloading, as well as the latest technology in energy efficiency and operational reliability.
